The Indian government recently extended the deadline for filing income tax returns (ITR) for corporate taxpayers by 15 days, moving it from October 31 to November 15, 2024.

This extension applies to companies covered under Section 139(1) of the Income Tax Act, aiming to provide relief to businesses that need additional time to complete their filings for the assessment year 2024-25.

The extension was announced by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), with a notification issued via social media platforms and official channels.

This move ensures that companies have adequate time to comply without incurring penalties.
