Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently reaffirmed the Indian government's commitment to enhancing skills and preparing a future-ready workforce. Speaking at the 'Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh' (Skill Convocation Ceremony), Modi emphasized the importance of empowering youth through globally relevant skills and aligning policies to support this goal. He expressed confidence that India's skilled professionals would significantly contribute to making the nation one of the world's top three economies in the near future.
Modi noted that India's growing recognition as a hub of skilled talent is due to the expertise of its young workforce. Highlighting initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and the Skill India Mission, he underlined the role of programs that promote skill development across diverse sectors, including drone technology, traditional craftsmanship, and semiconductor education. Additionally, the Prime Minister mentioned efforts to integrate skill development into the education system from an early stage, starting in schools.
The ceremony also featured remarks from other officials, such as Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who praised the government's progress in expanding skill training opportunities. Initiatives like the PM Vishwakarma Yojana aim to modernize traditional skills, and a growing number of women are participating in skill programs due to recent government efforts. The Skill India Digital platform was also highlighted, providing a one-stop solution for skilling needs across the country.
These initiatives collectively aim to position India as a leader in supplying skilled manpower worldwide while fostering innovation and economic growth.
